Process Description
Biaxially oriented polypropylene (BOPP), plain or composite film with 2 or 3 layers in B/A/A, B/A/B, B/A/C configuration
Resin to be used: for base layer – polypropylene homopolymer; for skin layer – ethylene-propylene copolymer
Film thickness range: plain film 12 – 50 microns; composite film 15 – 40 microns
Production capacity on mill roll basis, line capability: typical capacity of mill roll film shown as follows – 12 micron at 200 m/min produces 816 kg/h (5,712 ton/year), 15 micron at 250 m/min produces 1,275 kg/h (8,925 ton/year), 20 micron at 250 m/min produces 1,700 kg/h (11,900 ton/year), 30 micron at 166.6 m/min produces 1,700 kg/h (11,900 ton/year), 40 micron at 125 m/min produces 1,700 kg/h (11,900 ton/year), 50 micron at 76 m/min produces 1,292 kg/h (9,044 ton/year)
Extruder output: main extruder max. approx. 2,000 kg/hr; satellite extruder max. approx. 180 kg/hr per set x 2 sets; max. total: 2,000 kg/hr
General Specification
Dimension of finished film: width max. 6,300 mm; thickness plain film 12 – 50 microns, composite film 15 – 40 microns
Mill roll diameter: max. 1,200 mm
Machine speed: before orientation max. 60 m/min; after orientation max. 260 m/min
Draw ratio: longitudinal direction 1: 1 – 1: 7; transverse direction 1: 7 – 1: 10
Operation side: film flows from left to right when standing at the operation side
Dimension of BOPP line (net machine size): total length approx. 100 m; width approx. 13 m; height approx. 5.1 m
Polymer Receiving Area
Polypropylene virgin pellets, reclaim pellets, and master batch pellets are unloaded into the receiving hopper and transferred to their respective silos
Main equipment: unloading hopper 1.5 cu. meter (1 set); rotary valve capacity 10 tons/hour (1 set); blower roots type, 30 kw (1 set); diverter valve air operated stainless cast iron (5 sets)
Polymer Storing Area
Raw materials are loaded and stored in their respective silos to ensure continuous supply of polypropylene resins
Main equipment: storage silo for virgin pellet 50 cu. meter (2 sets); storage silo for reclaim pellet 50 cu. meter (2 sets); storage silo for master batch pellets 15 cu. meter (2 sets)
Mixing Area
Silos for virgin pellets, master batch pellets, and reclaim pellets are connected with pneumatic conveying tube; pellets are mixed in the tube during transportation
Screw feeder and rotary feeder control the mixing ratio of different kinds of pellets; then they are dried by a hopper drier
After drying by the hopper drier, pellet materials are mixed with fluffs coming from edge trim crushing and feeding equipment and then sent to the feeding hopper mounted above a main extruder
