  3. Process Description
    1. Individually metered P.U. chemicals are mixed together in a mechanical mixing head.
    2. Mixture is fed directly into a metal trough (expansion device) where the chemical reaction takes place.
    3. Rising foam passes from the top of the trough onto a variable width, steel telescopic Maxfoam fallplate unit.
    4. Fallplate leads the expanding foam block onto and along a metal slat horizontal conveyor for completion of foam rise and initial cure.
  4. Features And Benefits
    1. Flat top, square shaped foam blocks with better cutting conversion and less scrap.
    2. Lower skin density.
    3. Reduced bottom and side skins resulting in less waste.
    4. Less foam density variation in the block, more regular foam per block.
    5. Variable width foam blocks as a standard feature.
    6. Reduced waste thanks to production width flexibility.
    7. Optimum chemical conversion.
    8. Less waste thanks to high quality accurate equipment.
    9. Reduced labor requirement.
    10. Manpower cost savings, particularly with Omega production control.
    11. Simple, yet highly accurate operation.
    12. Easier operation.
  5. Cardio Technology
    1. CarDio™ is the patented process of the Cannon Group for producing low-density polyurethane foams on continuous slabstock plants using natural liquid carbon dioxide (CO₂) as the blowing agent.
    2. In 1994, the Cannon Group became the first company to develop and install this technology on a full production machine based on existing Maxfoam technology located in Northern Europe.
    3. To date, more than thirty-eight individual CarDio™ installations have been supplied worldwide, with equipment in successful daily foam block production throughout Europe, North America, South America, the Far East, North Africa, and most recently, the Middle East.
    4. CO₂ is abundantly available in nature, extremely cheap, expands three times more than competing alternatives such as methylene chloride, so less is required, and has no harmful effect on the health of workers or factory safety.
    5. Using CO₂, which is a by-product of other industrial processes, no additional gas is added to the atmosphere, making CarDio™ an environmentally friendly process.
    6. The CarDio™ equipment can be supplied complete and incorporated with a new continuous foam slabstock plant, or installed as an addition to a customer’s existing foam block production machinery as a retrofit package.
  6. Additional Equipment
    1. Viking Vertifoam machinery for production of either round or rectangular flexible PU foam in a vertical direction.
