Pu slabs cut from foam block by horizontal cutting undergo perimetrical stretching, sometimes a few centimeters stretching.
In order to achieve satisfactory sizes (±1mm each side), the removing of irregular edges is required.
This machine trims foam slabs and also coupled slabs.
It can be placed at the end of the mattress gluing plant (manual or automatic) or beyond the horizontal cutting machine.
The coupled foam sheets are not aligned and need to be trimmed.
Often the coupled mattresses are trimmed one by one along the four sides with a manual vertical cutting machine wasting a large amount of time.
This machine automatically trims the four sides of foam mattresses without any handling, ensuring accurate trim and short processing time.
Cutting Modes
Perimetrical trimming: by operator panel are only set the perimetrical dimensions to be obtained.
Perimetrical trimming and two halves cutting: after perimetrical trimming the foam block is automatically cut into two halves.
Perimetrical trimming and multi-cut: by operator panel are to be set perimetrical block dimensions, number of slabs and sizes of slabs to be obtained along the two axes “x” and “y”.
Machine Components
Cutting unit with four blade-wheels: blade brake gearmotor equipped with “soft-starter” Siemens electronic device, providing soft start-up and smooth ramp-down avoiding mechanical impacts or voltage dips.
Cutting unit motor reducer with variable speed 5 - 20 m/min.
Power driven adjustable grinding unit with grinding powder aspirator, completely closed in steel and polycarbonate box.
Automatic grinding of band-knife: the blade is automatically ground at the end of cutting process and grinding time is set by operator.
A lamp warns when blade is in function.
Pneumatic device for blade twist by 90°.
Blade tension by means of spring hand-wheel equipped with blade tension micro-switch.
Band-knife nominal lubricating system (to avoid that wet glue dirties the blade, option).
RAL 9003 (white) painting.
One motorized loading conveyor complete of tilting conveyor with pneumatic drive (the tilting belt allows the cutting unit passage).
One motorized central conveyor.
One motorized unloading conveyor.
One electric board kitted out of 4-axes multi-function device with operator panel (touch-screen) for input of working data.
Wire-cloth safety guards to limit dangerous area with two interlocking sliding doors.
Additional Features (2019)
Loading conveyor can be up to 4000mm length.
Foam blocks more than 2500mm length (3000mm, 4000mm) can now be cut in differing dimensions (rather than only in the middle, as previous model).
Multi-cut function: 10 different cuts, both x and y axes, can be performed.
Recipes can be saved and called with the set program name by combining number/letter/name each recipe (e.g., 1(edges trimming) + a (recipe)), including cutting programs a through f below:

Set b: trimming + two halves cutting
Set c: trimming + multi-cut (all equal blocks)
Set d: trimming + multi-cut (different sizes block)
Set e: head and tail cut
Set f: left and right cut

One motorized central conveyor with roller for mattress positioning (to replace the central conveyor).
