Ramisch Kleinewefers, Calender, 1981, 2400mm, 3-Roll, 40 Ton

Description

  1. Overview
    1. 1981 Ramisch Kleinewefers calender, 2400 mm
    2. Three-roll machine: one Racolan (nylon) roll and two steel rolls
    3. Hydraulic pressure system and electric elements to heat the steel roll
    4. 40 ton capacity
  2. Drive Motor
    1. Manufactured by the German company Piller, 550 V / 41 kW, type KLA 812-4 / 2400 rpm
    2. No machine controller
    3. Motor instruction manual states: "3 phase shunt-wound type PK with built-in forced air ventilator; its speed is adjustable with PIV control"
  3. Rolls and Heating
    1. All rolls are in very good condition
    2. The nylon roll is quite new, meaning not much used after conversion from paper roll
    3. Steel rolls are made by Ramisch Kleinewefers; only one steel roll has a heating element as heat was not used in the second steel roll
    4. Rolls can heat to 200 °C
    5. The heated steel rolls are electrically heated, with an electric element inserted into the rolls; one new, never-used heating element remains in stock
    6. The second steel roll was never used for heating, so no element is in that one
  4. Hydraulic System
    1. Hydraulic system puts pressure to the rolls
    2. The casing of the hydraulic motor is broken on one end; it is not sure if the winding inside is okay, so it may have to be replaced
    3. Hydraulic motor: Wittenbecher & Co. GmbH, type KMER 112 M4, 1720 rpm, 500 V, 5.2 A, 4 kW
  5. Lubrication System
    1. Small self-contained oil system supplies and circulates lubrication to the steel roll bushings
  6. Documentation
    1. Complete set of original installation drawings and operating instructions, including electric schematics
  7. Condition and Notes
    1. The machine is sold "as is" without warranty
    2. Assumption that some secondary parts or pieces may need to be replaced when the machine is recommissioned; however, the important main and critical items appear in very good condition
    3. Given the price of a new machine, any reasonable investment to replace some secondary parts would be well worth it and to be expected
    4. These German machines were built very strong in the day; the calender was bought new, provided excellent service, and was maintained to the utmost standard
    5. Noteworthy: a master mechanic who is expert on this machine can help a buyer with technical questions should they decide to purchase and install
