Genset Performance
Voltage regulation under load from no load to 100% will be within ± 0.5%
Random voltage variation for constant loads from no load to 100% will not exceed ± 0.5% of its mean value
Frequency regulation under varying loads from no load to 100% load is isochronous
Random frequency variation will not exceed ± 0.25% of its mean value for constant loads from no load to full load
Electromagnetic interference attenuation meets requirements of most industrial and commercial applications
Total harmonic distortion of the AC waveform is less than 5% total no load to full load and less than 3% for any single harmonic
One step load acceptance: 100% of nameplate kW rating, meets requirement of NFPA 110, paragraph 5-13.2.6
Alternator temperature rise at rated load is less than 105°C at prime power rating and less than 125°C at standby rating; temperature rise is per NEMA MG1.22.40, IEEE115 and BS4999, part 101
Waveform deviation factor less than 5% line-to-line reduces risk of overheating and of interference with sensitive communication equipment
Standby rating: the unit will operate at the stated rating for the duration of normal utility power interruptions
Prime power rating: the unit is applicable for supplying electric power in lieu of commercially purchased power; intermittent overloads up to the standby rating are allowable
Ratings and performance exceed conditions set forth in ISO 3046; refer to generator set data sheets for specific rating information
Main Alternator Detail
Design: revolving field, brushless, single bearing, 4 pole, dripproof construction; superior mechanical and thermal design achieved through use of the best available materials
Stator: skewed stators and two-thirds pitch windings result in minimum field heating and voltage harmonics; laminations of low loss, insulated, electrical grade steel to maximize efficiency; double dipped in thermosetting, moisture, oil and acid resisting varnish
Radio interference: alternator and voltage regulator meet the provisions of BS.800 and VDE class G and N
Bearing: the rotor is supported by a prelubricated, maintenance free ball bearing
Cooling: direct drive centrifugal blower
Rotor: direct coupled to engine with flexible drive discs; complete amortisseur (damper) windings ensure minimum voltage deviations and heating effects under unbalanced loads; dynamically balanced rotor assembly; impregnated with 100% thermosetting resins
Excitation: the brushless exciter armature feeds the main alternator field winding through a shaft mounted three-phase full-wave silicon diode rectifiers; the semi-conductor surge suppressor protects the diodes against transient overvoltages induced by load surges; the automatic voltage regulator provides variable excitation to assist the engine during transient load conditions
PMG: permanent magnet generator provides constant power for the voltage regulator and provides immunity to SCR tracking
Insulation: the insulation system is class H per NEMA MG1-1.65 and BS2757 definition
Operating Data (At Standby Rating)
