NovaStar, FN421, Roll Splitter Skiver, 52" Working Width, 7.5 HP Bandknife Motor, 5 HP Feed Motor (New)

Description

  1. Overview
    1. Skiver
    2. Roll splitter
    3. This machine is designed to process hard to cut materials, such as ethafoam, PVC, neoprene foam and other semi flexible cellular products.
    4. It is built for heavy and continuous use in applications requiring dependable and precise performance.
  2. Specifications
    1. Working width 52 in
    2. Usable width of the machine is 52 in
    3. Length of cut is unlimited
    4. Total thickness of material shall not exceed 12 in
    5. Maximum rise over the knife is 4 in
    6. The lower can be adjusted to maximum of 8 in below the knife
    7. Important: the cut sheets shall have the flexibility to bend for approximately 12 degrees to clear the knife guide
  3. Cutting System
    1. The cutting is done by bandknife, powered by a 7 hp motor and no-slip timing belt drive
    2. The knife wheels are 20 in diameter, ball bearing mounted
    3. The knife is stabilized at the cutting position by rigid guide bar with hardened wearstrips and adjustable carboloy backstops
    4. The knife is sharpened by two grinders, powered by a 1/4 hp motor each
    5. The grinders are equipped with horizontal and vertical adjusting means
    6. Safety switch interrupts control power if knife breaks or there is insufficient knife tension
  4. Feed System
    1. The material is fed in the machine by two 4 in diameter knurled rolls, powered by a 5 hp motor, gear reducer and universal joint drive, assuring even, synchronized speed for material to advance into the knife
    2. Variable speed roll drive is standard
    3. The upper roll provides the gap between material and knife, thus controlling the thickness to be cut
    4. The lower can be adjusted to maximum of 8 in below the knife
    5. This roll has to be raised for amount the upper roll is set in order to advance the material in to the knife
    6. Since this roll carries the block of material, it is equipped with a table
    7. The table consists of two parts: the front and the rear
    8. Both table parts are in line with each other and raises or lowers as the bottom roll is adjusted
    9. Both rolls are powered by manual handwheels
    10. Scales indicate the position in relation to the knife blade
    11. Changed the bottom roller to electrical controlled instead of handwheel
  5. Electrical
    1. All motors are totally enclosed, 3/230/460/60
    2. Wiring and control enclosures NEMA 1
    3. Starters magnetic with O. R., coils line voltage
  6. Construction
    1. This machine is covered with removable steel panels, leaving only parts needed for operation exposed
