NovaStar, DW 1000, Drop Weight Tower, 5 to 750J Impact Energy, 0.05 to 1300mm Drop Height

Description

  1. General Description
    1. The DW 1000 is a drop tower test system that performs mono-multi axial impact tests on products and specimens.
    2. The system allows to set impact energies ranging from 5 to 750 J, allowing to test a wide range of products and materials, also thanks to the large volume of work available for the positioning of the sample.
    3. The DW 1000 allows to perform both broken / not-broken tests and instrumented tests, in which it acquires strength and energy absorbed during the impact.
    4. The system is developed to be easily customized and upgraded in order to meet current and future requirements of the client.
    5. All versions of DW 1000 are equipped with a direct reading of speed, automatic recovery and positioning system of the weight.
    6. A wide range of standard accessories is available. For special requirements NovaStar is ready to collaborate with the customer.
  2. Application Areas
    1. Testing of products (i.e. equipment and ski boots, snowboards and skating; automotive components)
    2. Uniaxial and multiaxial tests on specimens (i.e. impact test according to ISO 6603-2, ASTM D 3763, ASTM D 3029 (method B), ISO 8256 A, CAI test Boeing BSS 7260 and Airbus AITM 1.0010, Charpy ISO 179 test (another test upon request))
  3. Accessories
    1. Anti-rebound system impactor: the debounce system holds up the drop weight thus preventing further secondary impacts affect the physical state of the sample / product.
    2. System for high energy impacts: spring preload system allows to increase the speed of the impact (the management of the module is fully automated).
    3. Climatic chamber: the drop tower can be equipped with a refrigeration circuit climatic chamber for temperatures from -40°C to +180°C, or with a nitrogen climate cell for inferior temperatures. The cell management is integrated in the fall tower software.
    4. Support for boots: has been designed for testing ski boots or other shoes, the angle adjustment allows to impact at various points of the footwear.
    5. Support and impactor for multi-axial test specimens ISO 6603-2, ASTM D 3763, ASTM support and impactor for pre-damage testing for CAI test Boeing BSS 7260 and Airbus AITM 1.0010
    6. Support and impactor for Charpy ISO 179 test
    7. Support and impactor for specimens for mono-axial tests (tensile) ISO 8256 A
    8. Support and impactor for testing of metallic materials: Pellini test ASTM E208, tear test ASTM E436, API 5L3, EN 10274
