  4. Extruder
    1. ESL Model 90/25, 90 mm extruder with 25:1 L/D ratio.
    2. 48 kW DC thyristor controlled drive with high efficiency reduction gear.
    3. Barrel temperature controlled by electric resistance heaters arranged in 4 control zones.
    4. Extruder output automatically controlled by a pressure transducer system to maintain constant polymer pressure.
    5. Extruder screw incorporates a dynamic mixing device to ensure homogeneous polymer melt and even distribution of color.
  5. Metering Pumps
    1. Spinning head equipped with 6 x two port metering pumps of 10 cc/port (20 cc total per revolution) capacity.
    2. Each pump driven by AC motor with individual static inverters for speed regulation.
    3. Reduction gear incorporated in the drive and connection to the pump via Cardan shaft.
    4. Each pump can be started and stopped individually to allow for individual spinning pack change.
  6. Spinning Head
    1. Head has 12 spinning packs which are quickly detachable for cleaning and servicing.
    2. Spinning pack incorporates woven stainless steel filtration system and is designed to allow assembly and preheating prior to fitting to die head.
    3. Special tool for change of hot spin pack assemblies included.
    4. Spinning beam heated by diathermic oil to six head design with six pumps, six spinneret groups at one metre pitch.
    5. Includes twelve electrical heaters, helical screws for fixing breaker-plate holder and pumps, polymer feed channel, cocks for venting at commissioning, security valve, level indicator, discharge and charging plugs, and manometer.
  7. Air Quench Cabinets
    1. Filaments cooled by a current of air directed across the filament path from the back of the cabinet.
    2. Air provided by variable speed centrifugal fans controlled via AC static inverters, enabling air velocity adjustment for different deniers.
    3. Air distribution system incorporated within ducting and air quench cabinet to ensure constant laminar air flow.
    4. Air can be controlled in six zones to achieve necessary cooling profile for different products.

  11. Spinnerets

  12. Water Cooling Plant
    1. Refrigerated water chiller with air cooled evaporator capable of maintaining appropriate air quench temperatures, included for supplying water to the spinning machine.
  13. Draw Winding
    1. Machine equipped with 6 drawing stations, each with its own winder.
    2. Each drawing position designed to process up to two separate yarns (denier dependent).
    3. Each drawing position comprises: non heated single feed roll of 0.5 m circumference; four duos: eight induction heated draw rolls of 0.5 m circumference.
    4. All rolls are plasma arc ceramic coated with polished surface to provide good fibre to godet cohesion; working length of godets is 170 mm.
    5. Each roll mounted directly to output shaft of an AC motor with static inverter variable speed control; maximum operating speed of 2300 m/min.
    6. All heated rolls have full PID electronic temperature control with solid state switching.
    7. Each draw position equipped with a winding machine type Comoli WTU 450.
    8. Laid out for winding two packages with package width (stroke) of 2 x 250 mm wound onto tubes of min i.d./o.d. 94/103 mm x 300 mm length.
  14. Air Entanglement Jets
    1. Each thread passes through a fibre guide air interlacing jet to assist final package formation and further processing.
    2. Frequency node formation controlled by the level of air pressure used in conjunction with winding tension.
