Description Overview Inventory number: E-3275 Waste wood power generating plant placed in service in the spring of 1990. Designed to produce 5,000 kW operating on a mixture of sawmill waste (slabs, sawdust, planer shavings) and whole tree chips. Can operate at 40% capacity on light oil (diesel fuel). The boiler could be modified to operate at 100% capacity on light or heavy oil, and possibly on other fuels. The plant was operated continuously until September 1996. Since then, the plant has been maintained in cold standby status in accordance with equipment manufacturer's recommendations. Fuel Specification 50% whole tree chips, 30% sawdust, 20% planer shavings. Moisture content: 45% to 55%. Density: 250 to 450 kg/m3.
