    1. Appleton embossing / calendering system, inventory number E-5405.
    2. 81 inch width, presently set up as an inline calender station.
    3. 2-roll system, has been used as a calender or embosser.
    4. Original owner was embossing and calendering paper grades from 45-100 lbs per 3,000 square feet.
  2. Swimming Roll Specifications
    1. Bottom roll is the swimming roll, non-driven, manufactured by Farrell Kuster.
    2. Age 1970.
    3. Swimming roll face length 82 inches.
    4. Roll face diameter 14.875 inches.
    5. Shell material is 1035 steel.
    6. Steel hardness 150-190 BHN.
    7. Nip pressure 50-1500 PLI.
    8. Internal roll pressure 186 PSI max, 5 PSI minimum.
    9. Max design speed 2500 FPM.
    10. Swimming roll oil system is designed to deflect the shell creating a flat nip up to 1500 PLI load on a stack.
    11. Internal oil pressure system is sized to approx 140 PSI.
  3. Roll Stack Details
    1. Bottom roll is loaded up to top roll by hydraulic cylinders.
    2. Maximum nip pressure 1500 PLI at approx 1500 PSI.
    3. Top roll is the driven roll for the stack, constructed from forged steel, bored, machined.
    4. Top roll journal is keyed for the drive coupling.
    5. Steel rolls are 82 inches wide, 18 inches diameter.
    6. Steel rolls are drilled.
    7. Steel rolls have rotary unions and bearing blocks.
    8. Steel rolls can be heated or chilled.
    9. Some steel rolls are chrome plated.
