  1. Overview
    1. Inventory number: E-5548
    2. One used extrusion coating / laminator system
    3. Products run: paper board coating with poly, poly – poly (various materials), poly or paper to foils, coating of paper of films or foils, and other applications as required
    4. Originally installed in the 1980s and progressively updated by the owners to include a full new construction of machinery and equipment with full rebuild of some parts
    5. System includes state of the art electronics built and installed by one of the leading electronic contracting firms; most components are Eurotherm installed in 2003
    6. PLC controls with touch screen and PLC controls on winders and other isolated components
    7. System comes with critical spare parts including but not limited to chill rolls, heaters, electronic parts and more
    8. System was built and designed by the factory engineer to meet the requirements of the firm and is designed for heavy duty service as all component parts are over-engineered for long service and minimum maintenance
    9. Entire system is in excellent condition

  2. Extruder
    1. NRM Pacemaker 70, original year of manufacture 1966 but with fully rebuilt gear reducer, 17:1 gear ratio, new barrel, new screw, new heaters throughout, and all new controls for temperature control, integrated into PLC control system
    2. Drive motor is brushless DC motor and controller, 250 HP (190 kW) direct driven to extruder gear reducer
    3. Screen changer: Dynisco Beringer 6" (150 mm) hydraulic slide plate type with all safety guards and features, complete with hydraulic power pack
    4. Cloeren die, 101" (2565 mm) flex lip type, mounted "lips down" back entry including all adapters and 90° adapter section, supported with a heavy duty overhung support, electrically heated
    5. Die is fitted with automatic built in deckle system allowing the die lips to be controlled down for extrudate to be at 48" (1200 mm) opening for various applications and versatility
    6. Die temperature controls installed in integrated PLC control system
  3. Laminator And Coater
    1. 98" (2489 mm) laminator and coater include two heavy duty unwind sections capable of large rolls and equipped with air shafts from 3" (75 mm), 6" (150 mm), 8" (200 mm), and 10" (250 mm)
    2. Passing through a corona discharge treater, into the first chill rolls, being 98" (2489 mm) wide x 24" (600 mm) diameter high chrome polish finish
    3. Note: a spare chill roll with matte finish is available as well
    4. Pressure roll is a 98" Buna rubber covered roll high temperature rubber, incoming to the chill roll is web guiding components as well as banana rolls and wrinkle removing systems for the incoming web
    5. Coating pans are positioned on the web path for any applications which might be required for treating the web prior to the lamination or coating procedures
    6. Further there are 4 cored chilled rolls of 8" (200 mm) each in line horizontally, passing onto two guide rolls of 8" diameter then entering another corona treating station towards the winding positions
    7. Just downstream of the first 24" chill roll is an overhead unwind station for substrate materials, capable of handling large rolls for this application of whatever material being used as the substrate
  4. Winding Station
    1. Entering the winding station, include two position center shaft type winding full width of up to 98" (2489 mm) capable of large diameter rolls up to 48" (1200 mm) or larger in some cases
    2. Drives are independent for each winder, and tension controls are built in including and integrated into the PLC control system
    3. Air shafts in all sizes from 3" to 10" are available for rewinding to customers specifications
  5. Material Handling
    1. Various overhead gantry type cranes positioned in critical areas for ease of loading and unloading web and finished goods
  6. Chilled Water Systems
    1. Includes 2 - 60 ton air cooled chillers manufactured by ICS tandem connected with water tank, all pumps etc. for operation on normal and excessive loads wherein the 2nd chiller will automatically supply additional cooling when operating conditions mandate such requirement
    2. One additional water cooled chiller of around 20 tons capacity is fitted to give non critical chilling to the extruder feed throat and other secondary requirements
    3. This chiller also has a cooling tower fitted to it for cooling the chiller condenser
  7. Electrical
    1. All electrical transformers required are included with the system where required
    2. Operational voltage for the system is 460-480 volt with additional 575 volt / 3 / 50-60 hertz operation
  8. Safety
    1. All safety railings, alarms and other requirements for meeting OSHA or health and safety requirements are included as well

    1. Technical assistance can be arranged by the engineer who built and designed the system separate from this offering
