Description
Overview
This machine drills holes into polyurethane mattresses and pillows with a plane surface, vertically relating to the table.
The F26 drilling machine consists of a steel frame where 26 chucks are placed and two conveyors for loading and unloading.
The machine is controlled on 4 axis and its movements are controlled by plc.
The keyboard is equipped with a multifunction control device where the working data is loaded.
A graphical window with an alarm for the wrong inputs helps operator to check the holes position.
The multi-function control includes diagnostics.
The machine is equipped with a board lubricating system device for the drills.

Drilling Capabilities
Minimum distance between holes is 10mm.
It can drill 25mm thickness (min. is 15mm).
Can get 25mm spacing (4 drilling hits each line x 80 x-hits), with drilling chucks 100mm distance in one working cycle (without feeding mattress twice).
It can perform up to 9 drilling types on a single mattress.
It can also drill continuously (for ex. on foam from bobbin).
It is possible to program both straight drilling and crossed drilling.
Chuck Configuration
Minimum distance among the chucks is 80mm, (with 26 drilling chucks); that means the operator can remove a few chucks in order to obtain a greater wheel base.
By removing 4 chucks the wheel base is 90mm, by removing 6 chucks the wheel base is 110mm and so on up to max. 140mm (with 14 mounted chucks).
The working time to remove the chucks takes 1 hour about.
The remained chucks have to be located as showed in drawing inside the instruction manual.
The lateral movement of chucks yoke is not compromised.
Operation Details
In order to avoid that the mattress moves during working cycle, a manually adjusting small roll device is placed on the material to be perforated.
The material is cored by the core drill, ejected by an air jet and removed by means of a conveyor belt.
The chucks supported thrust yoke moves laterally (y axis) and vertically (z axis).
It is possible to program both movements: the lateral movement of thrust yoke (y axis) up to 100mm (in this case we obtain two or more series of holes in the same line (y pitch) and conveyor movement (x pitch) with infinity variable increments.
As the machine works on 3 axes: y = thrust yoke movement to right and to left (that's the way we get more than 26 holes on the same line), z = thrust yoke vertical movement (drilling hits), x = mattress feeding (number of x-hits is programmable).
Moreover you can program crossed drilling.
Multifunction Control Functions
The keyboard is complete with multifunction control functions.
Display with pages; read them by "arrow" key.
On page "working data" it is displayed: increment movements of x, y and z axis; removal time of mattress (in seconds); drilling quantity (partial and total); drilling speed.
