General Process Flow Description
The chips are aspired to chips tank (third level) by blowing machine N1
The chips are aspired to hopper (third level) by blowing machine N2
The air-dryer produces warm air and sends it to the hopper
The dried chips come down from the hopper to the extruder (second level): here they are fused (by heat and friction) and the liquid basic polymer is pushed to the extruder-head where it is mixed with additives
The additives are stored in the additive-tank and are sent by 2 pumps (booster pump and impregnation pump) (second level) to the extruder-head, where they are mixed with the basic polymer. Additive-line is heated by warm water
The additived polymer is sent to the 8 spinning beams. Extruder-head, polymer pipe and spinning beams are heated by diathermic oil. In every spinning beam there is one pump and one spin pack, and the polymer is extruded through the spinnerets to the cells
The quenching stack (first level) cools the threads through conditioned air
The cooled threads come down from final spinning tube (zero level), pass through oiling roll unit and finally are collected onto the winder machine
Main Equipment
Chip Supply Unit
This chips dryer is designed to supply an uninterrupted flow of constant, low dew-point air
Chip hopper
Chip dryer type: Novatec NPD-100, 380 volt
Chip loader
Extruder
This machine fuses the raw material (chips) and pushes it with a constant pressure
Additive tank (60 liters) – allows to heat and maintain temperature with warm water; tank has a filter inside; on top of the tank there is a flange for N2 (inert atmosphere)
Pump system for feeding/dosing additives – increases pressure of the additive solution and maintains it constant through the booster pump, then doses the solution to the extruder (dosing pump)
Inverter motor (both), power 0.4 kW, 2900 rpm, reducer 1/47
Pipes for feeding additive solution
Heat Medium Heater Units (for Piping and for Spinning Heads)
These devices heat diathermic oil and then send it to polymer pipe and to spinning beams
Each unit has: expansion tank, circulating pump (capacity 200 liters/min), electric heater (power 21 kW), two temperature sensors (one to control and one to prevent overheating), pressure max 1 MPa, temperature max 250 °C, pressure gauge, temperature gauge for circulating pump cooling water, pump (2.2 kW)
Polymer Pipe
Through this pipe, the additived polymer moves from the extruder to the spinning beams at constant temperature; the pipe has a jacketed structure (in the external, diathermic oil circulates)
Heated by diathermic oil
Temperature: 150-250 °C
Polymer pressure: max 25 MPa
One static mixer
One cooling air valve
Pressure and temperature sensor for polymer (feed back control)
GP Driving Shaft (GP = Gear Pump)
It connects the gear pump installed on the pack to the primary motor
Motor type: inductive electric motor, power 1-0.2 kW, 60-12 Hz
Reducer: 1/59
Spinning Beam
This device sends the polymer to the gear pump and so to the pack, maintaining constant the polymer temperature
Heated by diathermic oil
12 ends/pos x 1 pos/beam
Single side operation and top loading type
Vessel including pack dome and GP plate
Temperature: 150-250 °C
Pressure and temperature gauge for polymer
Pressure: max 25 MPa
Spinning Pack
The pack sends the polymer from the gear pump through the row
