  4. Constructions
    1. Process flow: open-width feeding → infrared centering with traverse device → padding → manually operated plate type weft straightener → lower overfeeding → mechanical weft straightening → screw expanding → upper overfeeding → 4-finger selvedge uncurling → edge controlling → pinning → steam humidifying → gluing → stentering or thermosetting → air cooling (two sets) → depinning → edge trimming with suction → moistening → plaiting.
    2. Entry section
      1. The entry frame to be formed by 4 mm thick steel plate, including guider rollers and an infra-red expanding and centering device. When the machine is used for knitted fabrics, inside threading guide rollers are employed with free rotation and little tension.
      2. Infra-red expanding and centering device: consisting of two expanding rollers driven by a motor and a centering executing device driven by an inverter-controlled motor and an infrared testing unit which sends the signals to the executing device.
    3. Padder: slant type, consisting of the frame, two padding rollers, a padding trough, two cylinders, expanding rollers, a motor and the pneumatic system.
      1. Padding rollers: covered by 25 mm thick butadiene-acrylonitrile rubber, with hardness of about Shore 80°. The padding rollers are pressurized by two pneumatic cylinders with max. working pressure for each cylinder being 0.4 MPa.
      2. Padding trough: welded by stainless steel sheet, with guide rolls and a level control device inside. The trough can be turned over and reset by two cylinders.
      3. Driving power: 7.5 kW, controlled by an inverter.
    4. Feeding box, including safety protection board, an overfeeding device, a mechanical weft straightener and a screw expanding device.
      1. Safety protection board, made of plexiglass, and equipped with an interlock device, so that the machine cannot run if the safety protection board is not closed.
      2. Overfeeding device: including lower overfeeding and upper overfeeding driven separately by inverter-controlled motors, with diameter of each overfeeding roller being 219 mm.
      3. Mechanical weft straightener: two straightening rolls, mounted separately before the two screw expanding rolls, are driven by two motors through a speed reducer.
      4. Screw expanding device: the function of screw expanding is to spread the fabric efficiently for easy pinning or clipping. There are two expanding rolls driven by a motor.
    5. Fabric holding system, including an infra-red edge controller, a four-finger edge uncurler, synchronous conveying belts, a cloth supporting device and cloth openers both at the entry and the exit.
      1. Infra-red edge controller: when at the entry fabric edges deviate right or left, the edge controller will drive the 1st section of guide rails to follow the movements of the fabric selvedges, so as to ensure precise pinning or clipping, consisting of two infrared sensors, one controller and two drivers, with the advantages including ignorance of color and thickness of the fabrics, high sensitivity, low energy consumption and wide regulating range etc.
      2. Four-finger uncurler: one set of uncurlers is mounted on the feeding rails before the infrared sensors. The four screw fingers are turned by motors to spread fabric edge completely before being pinned or clipped. The looping angle of the fabric edge on the finger can be changed by adjusting the relative position between the two pair of fingers for optimized uncurling effect.
      3. Synchronous conveying belts: the two polyurethane belts are moved by a motor at the same speed as that of the main machine to transport fabric into the drying chambers.
      4. Fabric support apparatus: it is used to support the fabric edges for clipping.
      5. Pinning apparatus: consisting of driven brush wheels driven by a 3-phase permanent magnetic motor of 750 W, a supporting roll and idle brush wheels.
      6. Fabric support apparatus: it is used to support the fabric edges for clipping. When pins are used instead of clips, the apparatus will move away so that the pins may pass.
      7. Pinning-off device: consisting of aluminum pinning-off wheels at the exit of the machine.
      8. Automatic stop device for pinning-off failure: when the fabric fails to be depinned, it will touch the rod of a limit switch which will stop the machine immediately. When clips are used instead of pins, the rod of the limit switch should be turned 90°.
    6. Rails and width regulating apparatus, consisting of rails, chain tension regulating device, pin plates and chains, width regulating device.
      1. Rails: to be made of 6 mm thick steel sheet with anti-abrasive steel plates placed inside of the rails on which chain rollers are moving along. On the rails where clips or pin plates are running, special graphite ledges are mounted so that lubricants are no more needed there. The graphite ledges can work for 7200 hours or more.
