Mascoe, 5KC, Coater, 4000mm Working Width

Description

  1. Overview
    1. 5kc coater
    2. Maximum face: 4200 mm
    3. Maximum coating width: 4000 mm
    4. One new 5kc knife over modified gap table and knife over roll coater for non-volatile chemical processes
  2. Construction
    1. Constructed from thick aluminum material ranging from 1 ½” thick to ¾” thick for machine integrity
    2. Aluminum is key in overall performance of the coating and in cleaning of the machine
    3. All coating surfaces (blade, rolls, tables) or anything the cloth makes contact with are stainless steel or chrome plated
    4. All direct coated surfaces are precision ground to a high tolerance for absolute repeatability
  3. Coating Head
    1. 4” blade raise for cleaning: the main coating head raises 4” above the table and roll coating surface for ample cleaning access
    2. Blade raise is done by a 4” cylinder through an indirect link to the head
    3. Indirect link is a safety measure in the event anything is left under the coating head when brought down
    4. 1” vertical blade movement (0.500” up / 0.500” down) for a wider range of coating adjustment
    5. Coating blade can be moved simultaneously or independently on the right or left side for loose selvage conditions
    6. Full horizontal movement: three separate coating positions (knife over roll, knife over air, knife over gap table)
    7. Head movement is done by pushbutton adjustment and set by a digital scale
    8. Movement between the three positions takes approximately three minutes
    9. Patented counter balance blade float: a system that automatically bypasses seams using a counter weighted air assist system
    10. Seam physically moves the blade from its set position, allowing it to pass, and returns it to a preset condition
  4. Roll Drive
    1. Roll drive for main coating roll is a 3 hp ac drive that can run independently or synchronized
    2. A 0-20 milliamp or 0-10 volt signal is required to synchronize the roll with the line speed
  5. Chemical Containment and Dispersion
    1. Guidable end dam for chemical containment: patented end dams that conform to the shape of the trough to retain chemical from flowing over the fabric edge
    2. Dams are positioned by a fiber optic feeler system that mechanically detects the fabric edge and signals the dam to move to its desired position
    3. Chemical oscillating system: a chemical dispersement system that traverses consistently between the end dams to maintain proper chemical height
    4. A stirring paddle is provided
  6. Controls
    1. Series 4000 pushbutton control and digital readout system
    2. All coater controls are on a single panel with pushbutton controls of all functions
    3. Movements are done by stepper motors or low pressure hydraulics
    4. Position indication is read by digital indication
  7. Additional Equipment
    1. Patented automatic trough system: an upgrade from the manual trough system that removes the handwheel system and replaces it with a cylinder/cable combination system
    2. When properly wired to the tenter system, it receives a signal from the start/stop function and will automatically open the trough to preset condition during start up and automatically close it should the machine stop
    3. Installation, start up and training: a technician will level the machine, ensure proper placement, and make sure all connections are made properly
    4. During training all functions of the machine will be explained in depth; it is best to have fabric and chemical available for testing and setting
    5. One additional set of end dams: trough conforming end dams made of a combination of aluminum, plastic, teflon and silicone seal
    6. Constant day to day use will cause them to degrade; it is highly recommended to have a spare set on hand and send them in for rebuild from time to time
    7. One additional coating blade of any profile: each coating blade is constructed from tool steel for the best wear characteristics
    8. Over time the blade will wear and require regrinding; it is recommended to keep an additional blade on hand in the event of wear or damage
