Description

  1. Overview
    1. Original year of construction: 1993.
    2. Supplied with a new overfeed stoker combustion system with manual de-ashing and new PLC control panel (all other components are used).
  2. Boiler Base
    1. IBC 650 HP (approximately 29.97 MMBTU per hour input) hybrid Modpac wood fired boiler.
    2. The 150 PSID pressure vessel was fabricated in 1993 and is capable of operating at pressures up to 130 PSIG.
    3. The boiler is provided with the same type standard boiler trim as was provided when it was originally constructed.
  3. Combustion System
    1. New boiler combustion chamber with cast iron grate.
    2. One 8” overfeed stoker (feed fuel to furnace) with metering bin/auger system included.
    3. Modulating feedwater control valve.
    4. Induced draft fan with base and exhaust stack.
    5. Overfire air combustion fan to include ductwork to furnace.
    6. Underfire air combustion fan and ductwork to furnace.
    7. Combustion air preheater.
    8. Mechanical flyash collectors (one flyash reinjection fan for the first collector and one rotary airlock valve for the second collector) to include support frame.
  4. Boiler System Access and Trim
    1. Boiler system access platforms with ladder.
    2. Boiler system trim package which includes the following:
      1. One McDonald/Miller water column with sight glass trim.
      2. One Warrick E1 probe at top of boiler for 2nd LWCO control.
      3. Two relief valves set at 150 PSIG.
      4. One 6” 250# main steam gate valve (non return valve if required is by others).
      5. Two 1” quick opening blowdown valves.
      6. Two 2” quick opening blowdown valves.
      7. One 2” slow opening blowdown valve.
  5. PLC Control System
    1. New custom PLC control system with the following scope of supply:
      1. One boiler/combustion/control system engineering.
      2. One component installation location and wiring information.
      3. One PLC control panel to include custom designed solid fuel combustion software, Allen Bradley CPU, 22” Siemens color HMI HD touch screen, laptop shelf, painted NEMA 12 single door enclosure painted RAL-7035 light grey, operating switches, lights and draft controls (MCC or power panel is by others).
      4. Real-time online monitoring of all vital parameters on PLC.
      5. One steam pressure transmitter.
      6. One steam flow differential pressure transmitter with lit screen and 3 valve manifold.
      7. One draft transmitter.
      8. One underfire air fan transmitter.
      9. One secondary air fan transmitter.
      10. One boiler flue gas outlet transmitter.
      11. One transmitter at mechanical collector discharge.
      12. One high pressure transmitter for boiler feedwater pressure.
      13. One oxygen trim system.
      14. One high pressure draft switch.
      15. One lot of thermocouples with transmitters that measure temperatures in the following areas:
        1. Lower combustion chamber with custom high resistance/temperature protection tube (designed specifically for wood boiler combustion system temperatures and environment).
        2. Upper combustion zone with custom high resistance/temperature protection tube (designed specifically for wood boiler combustion system temperatures and environment).
        3. Boiler flue gas outlet.
        4. Feedwater tank temperature.
      16. One NEMA 4 field mounted panel to house and protect instrumentation and aid in diagnostic troubleshooting.
      17. One Allen Bradley variable frequency drives for the following components:
        1. Induced draft fan.
        2. Secondary air fan.
        3. Underfire air fan.
        4. Fuel feeder to combustion chamber.
      18. One engineered steam flow orifice plate with custom supplied orifice flanges.
      19. One metering bin sensor for activating fuel supply system from fuel storage to maintain fuel in the metering bin.
