NovaStar, Dual Oscillating Blade Contour Cutter, 2200x2500x1300mm, Vertical and Horizontal

Description

  1. Overview
    1. Designed for sme converters with small to medium batch sizes
    2. Machine consists of a fixed cutting frame and conveyor for horizontal block movement
    3. Two oscillator drive boxes move vertically on linear rails on each side of the machine’s cutting frame with a standard cutting width of 2200 mm
    4. Two gearboxes are located on the other side of the main frame; they move horizontally on linear rails and provide a standard cutting height of 1300 mm
    5. The blade is driven at both ends by electric motors with air pressure being used to maintain tension on the blade
    6. Each oscillator gearbox is also fitted with stepper motors for controlling the angle of the blade and a twist reset sensor for aligning the blade angle during power on
    7. The twist mechanism allows unlimited twist of the blade in both directions with the blade angle being automatically controlled by the computer to correspond with the effective cutting direction at any one time
    8. The oscillator boxes (pairs) are driven in parallel from an inverter-style speed controller to operate at a nominal speed of 50 Hz
    9. The stroke of the blade is 46 mm giving a high cutting speed
    10. The position of the blade(s) in the frame and the conveyor table is controlled by the latest technology, high-performance stepper motors mounted on the side of the cutting frame
    11. Typically, these stepper motors require approximately 17 to 20 “step” pulse commands from the control electronics to provide 1 mm of travel, providing excellent cutting accuracy
    12. The cutting blades take only minutes to change, minimizing production downtime
    13. To remove a blade, a simple tool is used to release the blade from the blade clamp and the blade is then slid out; a new blade is easily inserted into the clamp and the machine is ready for use again
    14. A range of blades is available to suit various flexible foam types

    9. Vertical blades (20 blades) pack
    10. Spares kit
    11. Block support
    12. Center guide
  4. Control Cabinet
    1. The control cabinet contains the positioning control electronics and oscillator motor drive
    2. The electronics module responsible for controlling the motion of the machine is referred to as the indexer
    3. The indexer connects to input and output boards which take inputs from the machine and controls outputs to the machine, checking and resetting the blade angle and connecting/disconnecting the centre guide
    4. Cable ducts carry all control and power wires from the machine to the control cabinet
    5. Housed inside the control cabinet is an industrial-grade pc (17”, touch-screen lcd display, windows 8.1 industrial pro operating system) that, with the powerful profiler software, operates the machine by translating designs for foam profiles into commands for the indexer
    6. The computer is connected to the indexer inside the cabinet by a serial data cable
    7. The control cabinet includes a desk tabletop so that profile drawings can be created and/or amended by the machine operator at the console (rather than at a remote design office)
    8. The main power switch is located on the side of the cabinet; this switch also provides power to the computer
  5. Profiler Software
    1. Housed inside the control cabinet is an industrial-grade pc (17”, touch-screen lcd display, windows 8.1 industrial pro operating system) that, with the powerful profiler software, operates the machine by translating designs for foam profiles into commands for the indexer
    2. The computer is connected to the indexer inside the cabinet by a serial data cable
    3. The control cabinet includes a desk tabletop so that profile drawings can be created and/or amended by the machine operator at the console (rather than at a remote design office)
  6. Remote Handset
    1. An 18-button manual cordless (radio-controlled) handset enables the operator to manually move the blade and conveyors, start, pause or cancel a cutting job, control the cut speed and digitise blade positions and shapes
  7. Safety Relay
    1. The control cabinet is already wired with connectors and safety relays which can be used for whatever safety fencing you require in your factory
    2. Safety fencing is recommended to prevent access to the cutting area whilst the machine is operating; it also prevents machine operation whilst an ‘unsafe’ condition exists
    3. Additionally, an emergency stop function is provided, allowing immediate machine shut down should an unforeseen event occur
  8. Internet Service Facilities
    1. Internet access to the machine is recommended to allow remote monitoring of the machine’s operation and diagnostic facilities
  9. Spares Kit and Manuals
    1. A spares kit containing a selection of commonly used parts is available for the machine
    2. Additional spare parts can be ordered through us
    3. Machines are also supplied with a comprehensive set of manuals covering machine use and maintenance
