  1. Overview

    1. Automatic line for producing blown pillows from one roll of fabric.

    2. Produces pillowcases composed of a single pocket with single sewing.

  2. Pillowcase Manufacturing Unit

    1. Pillowcase dimensions: minimum width 400 mm, maximum width 800 mm, maximum length 1200 mm.

    2. Composed of the following groups: cutting group, folding group, sewing group, automatic turning group, rotation group, and pillowcase manipulator group.

    3. Cutting group: sturdy welded carbon-steel structure with supports for the fabric roll to unwind, motorized calender group for unwinding at preset measure, and cutter group for automatic cutting.

    4. Folding group: conveyor belt fixed at exit of cutting group and motorized guide with motorized truck and clamp units to take and fold the fabric panel.

    5. Sewing group: two Pegasus overlocking sewing machines (right and left) fixed on lateral sides of a conveyor belt to automatically sew the lateral side of the pillowcase.

    6. Automatic turning group: fixed at exit of sewing group, uses a vacuum system to open the pillowcase and pneumatic guns to reverse it.

    7. Rotation group: collects pillowcases and turns them so the open side faces the filling group.

    8. Pillowcase manipulator group: located in front of the filling station, pneumatic manipulator grasps the pillowcase, opens it, and inserts it over the filling pipe.

    9. Technical characteristics: compressed air must be dry without humidity, pressure 7 bar, electric power 380/400 V – 50 Hz.

  3. Bale Opener

    1. Upstream of the automatic pillows line, allows automatic filling of the opener.

    2. Composed of a sturdy steel structure with a first motorized carpet carrying the raw-fiber bale to a second motorized carpet, supplying a riveted carpet that transports raw fiber to the entrance carpet of the opener.

    3. A dosing reel at the top of the riveted carpet batches the quantity of fiber; a second reel at the riveted carpet exit detaches fiber from the rivets, making it fall on the opener entrance carpet.

    4. Technical characteristics: height 2200 mm, width 1000 mm, length 3000 mm, electric power 380/400 V – 50 Hz, electric consumption 3 kW.

  4. Opener Machine

    1. Composed of feeder carpet group, lined cylinders group, and aspirator group.

    2. Feeder carpet group: operator manually deposits scraps or fiber on the feeder carpet that feeds the opener machine.

    3. Lined cylinders group: fast turning lined cylinders open scraps or fiber with a carding action.

    4. Aspirator group: sucks opened fiber or scraps from the lined cylinders group and conveys them by air pressure inside the silo.

    5. Technical characteristics: height 1300 mm, width 1300 mm, length 3700 mm, electric power 380/400 V – 50 Hz, electric consumption 12 kW.

    6. Capacity: can work about 120 kg/h of polyester tuf.

  5. Loader With Balance Group

    1. Composed of feeding silo, aspo group, electronic balance group, and exit carpet and fan group.

    2. Feeding silo: collects opened fibers to guarantee continuous working; regular filling controlled by photocells; three couples of rolls proportion the fibers (first couple stellar-rolls, second couple tamper-rolls, third couple catcher-rolls).

    3. Aspo group: one spiked roll takes fibers from catcher-rolls and feeds them into the balance.

    4. Electronic balance group: made of aluminium, suspended to 4 loading cells; electronic program controls exact weight set by operator; tolerance +/- 20 g; programmable for consecutive weighings with different weights to fill pillows for sofas with different pockets.

    5. Exit carpet and fan group: after correct weight reached, balance opens and fibers drop on underlying carpet; fan group sucks fibers and blows them inside the pillow-bags.

    6. Technical characteristics: height 4000 mm, width 1400 mm, length 3500 mm, compressed air must be dry without humidity, pressure min. 3 bar – max. 6 bar, consumption of compressed air for any draft 2 normal litre, electric power 380/400 V – 50 Hz, electric consumption 13 kW.

    7. Capacity: about 45/50 pillows/hour for dimension 50x60 h=25 weight 1800 g; programmable for different weightings and filling pillows composed of multiple bags.

  6. Automatic Overlock Sewing Group for the Final Open Side

    1. Collects filled pillow-cases with preset quantity of fiber and automatically conveys them to the overlock machine for final sewing of the open side.

    2. Composed of pillow-case loading group, conveyor-belt group with linear guide, and overlock sewing unit.

    3. Pillow-case loading group: when manipulator inserts case on filling pipe, pneumatic gun closes and automatically stops the pillow-case on the pipe until end of filling phase.

    4. Conveyor-belt group with linear guide: at end of filling phase, pipe moves back to "0" position, linear guide closes, pneumatic gun opens; linear guide starts moving the pillow through the overlock sewing machine.

    5. Overlock sewing unit: composed of an overlock Pegasus machine to close the open side of the lining and a labeling group to sew the label in the right position.

    6. Technical data: pneumatic power 6 bar, electric power 380/400 V – 50 Hz.

  7. Working Phases

    1. Operator puts the roll of material on the support fixed at entrance of the cutting group.

    2. Opens the safety door: calender group cylinder opens automatically.

    3. Feeds the material through the calender and closes the safety door.

    4. By acting on the control panel, advances the fabric till the sewing group and executes the first cut of the fabric to line it.

    5. Sets the length and number of panels to be cut.

    6. On the control panel sets the selector in "automatic" working mode.
