Solvent extraction plants in joint venture with Crown Iron Works Company, USA.
Brand: Kumar, established 1939.
Tagline: Geared for progress.
Superior performance in solvent extraction processes.
Key Benefits
Lower electricity consumption: Precisely designed process piping manifolds, high efficiency process pumps, and energy efficient electrical motors ensure lower electrical power consumption.
Lower steam consumption: Maximum heat is recovered by regeneration of heat in steam economizers, where heat from hot vapor is utilized to heat the miscella to its evaporation temperature; heating vessels are properly insulated to reduce radiation losses.
Lower hexane losses: Condenser designed with sufficient heat exchange area; plant designed with zero vent system to reduce hexane losses.
Minimal breakdowns: Machinery and material handling equipment are assembled and running trials are taken to ensure perfect alignment, resulting in negligible breakdowns during commissioning.
Operator friendly and easy maintenance: Superior quality hardware used; equipment construction simplified for operation and maintenance; following manual procedures ensures low operation and maintenance costs.
Lower manpower requirement: Premium quality and precise instruments for reliable, consistent, and better process control result in lower manpower requirements.
Safety: Systematic HAZOP study of extraction plants conducted; documents for hazard analysis and essential safety requirements provided; plant layouts based on international safety standards.
International certifications: Equipment and machinery manufactured in compliance with ASME and EU directives as per applicable international norms.
Preparation Section
Highly efficient seed cleaning and de-stoning system.
Well designed seed crackers and flakers with dynamically balanced rolls and sturdy base frame with special heavy thrust roller bearings for trouble free and consistent performance.
Taper lock pulleys for crackers enable easy maintenance.
Factory assembled gearbox assembly with running trials taken to ensure proper cooking of the seed in the cooker.
Properly controlled removal of hulls from seeds in hull and seed separator to ensure predetermined protein content to suit market requirements.
Porous collet formation in the expander for better percolation.
Proper cake sizing in the cake preparatory.
All machines undergo strict quality norms ensuring negligible breakdowns during commissioning period.
Seeds are cleaned to remove unwanted material like dust, leaves, etc., then sent to the de-stoner to remove stones and sand; this increases machine life and reduces downtime.
Process Equipment
Seed cleaner / de-stoner: Removes unwanted material and stones/sand to increase machine life and reduce downtime.
Cracker: Four roll cracker to break seed into quarter and eight sized pieces; comprises extra strong carbon steel frame, chilled cast iron rolls, V-belts drive motor and diverter gate; hinge mounted permanent magnet.
Conditioner / cooker: Vertical, multi-stage unit with fabricated shells and trays; heating by indirect steam; gates operated by mechanical level system to automatically control material flow and maintain level in each stage; central shaft driven by gearbox carrying agitator blades ensures good mix; vertical duct extracts vapors from each stage; provision to adjust final moisture levels by injecting water or direct steam.
Flaker: Carbon steel and cast iron machinery of heavy-duty construction; fabricated and stress relieved frame with adjustable scrappers for continuous roll cleaning; opening access doors for easy access; automatic hydraulic roll loading and releasing system maintains exact gap between roll faces; rotary feeder ensures even feed across full roll width; V-belt drive with motors.
Expander: Used to prepare collets from soya flakes; collets increase density and porosity, increasing percolation of hexane for faster oil extraction; increases plant capacity, reduces hexane consumption, and yields excellent oil quality.
