    2. Maximum web and sheet widths: 61 in
    3. Maximum thickness: 5 in
    4. Minimum and maximum line speed: 0.5 fpm to 30 fpm
    5. Projected process speed: 8 fpm
    6. Substrates for processing: adhesive pre-treated fiberglass board and fabric
    7. Forms of adhesives system can process: pre-treated fiberglass with adhesive
    8. Laminate product chilling: yes, via customer supplied chilled water
    9. Weights of substrates: various
  2. Frame Construction
    1. The side frames of the hph are split truss construction using heavy steel plate.
    2. All penetrations for roll mounts, tracks, pneumatics, and wiring are laser cut for highest accuracy.
    3. A heavy tubular steel frame with adjustable levelers supports the heating and cooling sections.
    4. A proprietary steel carriage supports the aluminum heater modules along the full length to eliminate heater deflection.
  3. Heating Modules
    1. Heating module dimensions: 6 in wide x 65 in long.
    2. The heating modules are constructed from a hard anodized extruded aluminum profile designed for the heat and pressure encountered in its service.
    3. The heater is divided into side-center-side zoning to compensate for edge heat loss.
    4. Total heated length is 96.
  4. Conveyance and Belt Guiding
    1. Seamed heavy duty ptfe coated fiberglass conveyor belts are used.
    2. The bottom conveyor extends 12 in beyond the top conveyor for ease of laminate in-feed.
    3. All rollers to support and drive the belts are machined and surface coated.
    4. Silicone covered rolls are used to drive the belts.
    5. For belt tracking, non contact sensors monitor the edge of the conveyor belt signaling the tracking controller to maintain belt position +/- 0.125.
    6. Belts are a wear item and will need periodic replacement; typical life is 1 to 3 years depending on process conditions and belt cleanliness.
  5. Pressure Nip Roll Assembly
    1. Immediately after the heated bed and prior to the drive rolls there will be a pressure nip assembly of 10 in od nip rolls.
    2. The coatings on the upper nip rolls will be high durometer synthetic rubber and the lower rollers will be steel.
  6. Controls
    1. Control system is a plc with a 15 in color touch screen hmi.
    2. Pid loops for heat zones and tracking are controlled via a plc.
    3. Ssrs are monitored for loss of voltage, loss of load, or shorted condition.
    4. Industrial ethernet is supported.
    5. An industrial ethernet switch is provided with one spare port.
    6. The hmi supports ethernet and usb.
    7. Bar and trend style graphs are included for maintenance of the zones and tracking.
    8. Sixteen recipes are provided.
    9. The tracking control is pid based utilizing analog edge sensors and v/p transducers.
  7. Belt Cleaning System
    1. Keeping the belts of the laminator clean is vital to long belt life.
    2. The conveyor belts are continuously wiped with a cleaning felt material designed for this purpose.
    3. Cleaning felt surfaces contact the full width of the belts at the exit end of the system to wipe residue from the surface.
    4. The felt is automatically advanced periodically to expose a new cleaning felt surface.
    5. The belts will need to be cleaned with a special fluid and felt flags as part of regular daily maintenance.
  8. Belt Cooling Options
    1. Cooling section features highly conductive aluminum fincool cooling modules designed with unique internally finned high surface area channels for greater heat-to-fluid transfer.
    2. Total length of cooling zone is 48.
    3. Cooled water supplied by customer.
  9. Belt Preheating
    1. With the belt cooling option additional heating modules are positioned inside the laminator to preheat the cooled belts prior to the entrance of the laminator.
  10. Upper Bed Movement
    1. The upper section of the heating, pressure and cooling sections are adjustable and motor driven.
    2. Maximum movement is 5.
    3. This feature allows for varying the gap and pressure applied to the substrates for the most efficient transfer of energy to the product.
  11. Additional Features
    1. Includes the standard 14 mil lap seam belt.
    2. Other optional extra belts available; belts selected will be determined by customer’s application and testing.
    3. Us designed and manufactured with rapid service and parts availability.
    4. Nicely designed external appearance; external covers house a heavy-duty industrial duty construction.
    5. Customer responsible for placing and leveling machine on floor.
    6. Customer responsible for electrical and plumbing connections.
    7. After machine(s) is/are positioned and connected to utilities NovaStar will supply 1 NovaStar engineer on site for 1 day for the machine start-off and training; travel and out of pocket expenses are not included.
