Description Overview Automatically controlled foam ILD-IFD tester available in both manual and PC-based versions. PC version uses custom-written Microsoft Visual Basic software for easy test setup and manipulation of test variables. Manual version requires the operator to manually operate the actuator, note loads at positions, and control position and speed. Specifications 8 in stroke variable speed DC drive lead-screw actuator. Load cell to provide required speeds and loads for ILD (now IFD) testing. Internal linear position potentiometer sensor for automatic programmed tests. 28 in wide x 24 1/2 in deep vented work area. Power loading device and sensors attached to a portable controls cart. Cart houses computer, monitor, printer, and all other required electronic controls. Industrial style rack mount computer with heavy-duty internal ventilator fans. High-speed data collection boards housed within the computer. DC motor drive and load cell amplifiers housed in the cart, accessible via a hinged door. Software and Data PC version programs are fully modifiable by the user for specific application requirements. Operators can create and modify new test setups as needed. All data is saved automatically to a database. Time and date information automatically added to each test file. Operators can enter comments and other critical information about each test sample. Able to plot and print actual load deflection curves from samples. Generates required ILD or IFD values per ASTM D3574. Condition and Flexibility Upon request, can be used as a tensile testing device for sections E and F of ASTM D3574. Interchange the foam indenter with a lower capacity load cell with manual sample grip. Install the lower manual sample grip with four screws for tensile testing capability. Included Portable controls cart with casters. Computer, monitor, and printer. All required electronic controls and amplifiers.
