  4. Pipe Connections

    2. Pure steam: If the pure steam connection is not used, the pipe connection shall be blinded so that the pure steam valve cannot be opened accidentally
  5. Primary Steam (Heating Steam)
    1. It must be secured that the steam pressure under no circumstances can exceed 8.5 bar which is the maximum allowable operating pressure for the distillation plant
    2. The primary steam must be dry saturated steam without oil, rust and iron particles or other impurities
    3. Condensate can be returned to boiler feed water tank or dumped
  6. Feed Water
    1. The feed water pressure shall be constant and minimum 1.5 bar above the primary steam pressure
    2. If a Kemiter feed water pump unit is delivered (option), it is normally placed in the same room as the distillation plant
    3. The feed water pressure to the feed water unit shall be minimum 2 bars
    4. The feed water shall be deionized water free of chlorine and other volatile substances and with maximum conductivity of 5 to 10 micro s/cm and with maximum silica content of 1 ppm
    5. Softened water can be used with certain limitations according to previous consultation with Kemiter
    6. The feed water temperature shall not exceed 80 degree C
  7. Drain
    1. Please note that the drain pipe shall be as short as possible and shall be led directly to drain, no counterpressure is allowed
    2. The drain pipe shall be the same size as the drain connection on the drain pan
  8. Vent
    1. The vent pipe shall be connected to open air to a ventilation system
    2. The vent will contain water vapour of a temperature up to 100 degree C
    3. The vent pipe shall be the same size as the vent connection on the drain pan
  9. Cooling Water
    1. Normal tap water can be used as cooling water if the hardness does not exceed 8 German degree otherwise softened water has to be used
    2. The cooling water pressure shall not be below 2 bars(g)
  10. Compressed Air
    1. The compressed air shall be dry and oil-free with a pressure not lower than 6 bars(g)
