Turbomach, TBM-TV-M2B, 2005, 4500kW, Back Pressure Steam Turbine, 52 barg Inlet, 8 barg Outlet

Description

  1. Overview
    1. Back pressure steam turbine
    2. Make: Turbomach
    3. Model: TBM-TV-M2B
    4. Year: 2005 with major overhaul in 2008
    5. Equipped with 2 x steam boilers
    6. The turbine is 4500 kW (electrical output)
    7. Turbine takes 52 tons of steam per hour to run on full 4.5 MW
    8. Steam inlet conditions: 52 barg superheated steam (380°C to 420°C)
    9. Steam outlet conditions: 8 barg superheated steam (210°C)
    10. Shutdown in April 2012 and barred over every 12 hours since
    11. All attached pipework goes with the unit apart from the HV system which is used in the systems left behind
    12. The system is approximately 14 meters long by approximately 4 meters wide and comes complete on a purpose built skid unit
    13. The unit was supplied on the skid unit so it can be transported with abnormal load conditions
  2. Waste Heat Boiler 2 (CHP2)
    1. Conventional Aalborg AX-4 water tube waste heat boiler producing superheated high pressure steam with a maximum rated output of 75 te/hr and an unfired output of approximately 14 te/hr
    2. Equipped with twin R & V in-duct register burners for supplementary firing
    3. NOx levels from WHB2 are not an issue (due largely to the much lower NOx levels from GT2)
    4. The much larger burner capacity (49 MW maximum heat input when supplementary firing, 60 MW on fresh air firing) means that the minimum firing capacity (4 MW on supplementary firing and 6 MW on fresh air firing) are correspondingly higher than for WHB1 and therefore even on minimum firing, will produce a significant quantity of steam
  3. Waste Heat Boiler 1 (CHP1)
    1. Conventional water-tube waste heat boiler producing superheated steam at 43 barg and between 360°C and 380°C, producing approximately 11 te/hr of steam when running on turbine exhaust gas (TEG)
    2. Equipped with two R&V model TTL/MG 12.5 in-duct register burners for supplementary firing
    3. This is a design of burner routinely used by the boiler manufacturer (Aalborg) for this type of application
    4. The R&V burner design is well tried and tested in this type of application and has a reference list of over 300 similar applications since 1976
    5. The in-duct register burner is commonly used across Europe in this type of application in preference to the grid type burner more commonly used in North America
    6. The waste heat boiler can be fully fresh-air fired if the gas turbine is not available
    7. Although WHB1 is rated at 45 te/hr, it is regarded as being incapable of operation at rates above about 35 te/hr due to flame lift off
  4. Condition
    1. The plant is in excellent condition
    2. Available immediately and inspection any time
