    4. Mechanical noise: the optical bench is installed on vibration dampeners; however, it is recommended that the nextgen laserscan be placed on a stable, vibration free floor
    5. Dust: to prevent poor electrical contact and to reduce the possibility of airborne contaminants being included in the diameter distribution, it is recommended that the nextgen laserscan is not operated in a dusty environment
    6. Circulating air: ensure that the back of the nextgen laserscan is not close to a wall so that cooling air can flow freely in and out of the ventilation grills at rear; a clear space of at least 150 mm (6 inches) behind nextgen laserscan is recommended
