Description Overview Caterpillar diesel engine continuous generation station 3 MW total capacity Complete with switchgear and many extras 60 Hz 600 volts (can be stepped to 13.8 kV) Diesel fuel Configuration Comprised of 2 each 500 kW Caterpillar 3412 units and 2 each Caterpillar 1000 kW 3512 units Operated from 2000 until 2004 Top ends were rebuilt on all units at 8,000 hours and operated only as standby units until January Included Equipment 5 battery chargers and 4 sets of Caterpillar batteries Four water separator units for fuel All exhaust mufflers included All block heaters were functioning when retired Controls and Switchgear Upgraded with new control in order to synchronize all units together Control computers were updated in 2011 Controls, CDP and mains are housed in a fire rated and insulated 20 ft weatherized sea containers Switchgear has one cell for each generator complete with controls, main breaker and metering Common bus and CDP is rated at 3000 amps Two modes of operation: manual and automatic In automatic, the PLC controls the starting and stopping of selected units Units automatically switch on and off depending on power needed Condition All units are newly power washed Repainted and ready to work Over $3.1 million spent since new
