Description Overview Quick release drop tester nova-dt series Model: nova-dt-3000 The nova-dt series drop tester is intended to simulate the drops and mechanical hazards that occur in distribution It is used in conjunction with a lifting device such as a forklift, crane, jack, or winch to raise and drop release a test package It can perform repeatable free-fall drops (flat, edge, and corner) on packages of virtually any size and shape Specifications Package testing capacity minimum: 25 pounds (11 kg) Package testing capacity maximum: 3000 pounds (1 361 kg) Standard utilities: 115 vac, 60 hz Optional utilities: 230 vac, 50 or 60 hz (as per customer requirement) Lifting device: customer supplied Nova-dt tester weight (without specimen): 22 pounds (10 kg) Nova-dt tester dimensions: 4 x 6 x 16. (100 x 150 x 410 mm) Operation A remote footswitch activates a solenoid in the quick release mechanism, causing the latch jaws to open and release the test package The footswitch is protected inside a metal guard enclosure to prevent accidental activation of the switch The quick release mechanism is designed to provide maximum reliability and safety It will safely hold the load if there is a loss of power or if the wall plug is pulled out inadvertently
