  4. Description Of Function
    1. The mattress core is placed on the feeding conveyor; in case of integration of the filling machine Fillmatic Fu into an automatic mattress assembly line it is transferred by the previous station onto this conveyor.
    2. The operators pull the mattress cover over the filling arms, while the upper filling arms are in the lowered position; the work cycle is started by foot switch.
    3. The upper filling arms are lifted and open the cover under tension; the feeding conveyor inserts the mattress core into the machine.
    4. The mattress core is gripped by the lateral guiding belts, centered and slightly horizontally compressed (compression adjustable); then the transport belts of the filling arms grip the core from above and below and compress it vertically; the core moves into the mattress cover while being guided by lateral guiding plates and the filling arm belts.
    5. If the machine is equipped with glueing heads these will spray glue onto the core and the inside of the mattress cover in order to bond the cover to the core (with solvent based or water based glue); start and end of spraying are adjustable in relationship to the mattress length, in order to leave an unsprayed space at head and foot end of the mattress, if desired.
    6. The core expands inside the cover upon leaving the filling arms and thus pulls the cover from the filling arms; now the upper filling arms descend again in order to facilitate the placing of the next mattress cover over the arms; thus the production cycle is finished.
    7. The filled mattress can be closed by zipper or by tape edging.

  7. Description Of Function For Assembly Conveyor
    1. The conveyor consists of a sheet metal frame with top plate, over which the conveyor belt moves; the material of the conveyor belt is coated especially in order to facilitate removal of glue from the belt in cleaning.
    2. The running direction of the belt is controlled by a pneumatically activated control roll; thus it is guaranteed that the belt always runs straight without any wear by mechanic guiding elements along the rim of the belt.
    3. At the side of the conveyor frame flaps are mounted, which can be raised and fixed to give a working platform of the maximum working width; for assembly of narrow mattresses the flaps can be lowered to give closer access and avoid strenous work by bending far over.
    4. At the infeed side, facing the filling machine, a raisable flap is mounted, which can be adjusted in its angle; by fine adjusting this angle it can be achieved that the mattress returns into the filling arms with manual intervention (depends on mattress dimensions and can not be guaranteed, manual guiding may be necessary).
  8. Condition
    1. Machine is in good working condition.
    2. Widest mattress that can be passed through the machine: king size, 10" height
    3. Capacity: 30 to 40 mattresses per hour depending on specifications
