1. Project Overview
The unit positions, unwinds and prepares two prepreg rolls, removes the required release materials, thermally presses the two prepreg layers together and feeds the bonded web continuously to a downstream automatic cutting system. In accordance with the structural drawing, the unit also includes a differential-friction rewinding arrangement. The central bonding nip uses an engraved diamond-pattern roller connected to a mold temperature controller (MTC); both bonding temperature and pressure are adjustable.
1.1 Intended Functions
Bonding and continuous feeding of prepreg up to 1000mm (39.4 in) effective web width.
Synchronized unwinding of two prepreg rolls and separate take-up of the peeled film and paper.
Stable positioning and feeding to the downstream automatic cutting system, with adjustable delivery height and inclination.
Thermal pressing by an MTC-connected diamond-pattern roller, with adjustable roller temperature and nip pressure.
Differential-friction rewinding as shown in the drawing; the final operating mode (finished-roll rewind or downstream feeding/traction) shall be frozen during design review.
