NovaStar, GN150, Laminating and Sheeting (Cross-Cutting) Machine, New, 1,600 mm (63 in) Working Width, 100 in (2,540 mm) Sheets (New)

Description

  1. Overview
    1. Roll-fed line that unwinds 2 adhesive-coated webs, strips the liner from each web immediately ahead of the nip, bonds the 2 exposed adhesive faces at a cold laminating nip, then cross-cuts the bonded web to length and delivers the finished sheets on a belt conveyor.
    2. The process is cold. There is no heat and no glue or adhesive application system, because the webs carry their own adhesive and are joined by nip pressure alone.
    3. Built to order as a customized machine of compact structure, with the laminating section, the cross cutting unit and the sheet conveyor carried on one frame.
  2. Specifications
    1. Effective working width: 1,600 mm (63 in), with no edge trim taken.
    2. Cross cut sheet length: to 100 in (2,540 mm).
    3. Cut length tolerance: about 2 mm (0.08 in) on a 2,540 mm (100 in) sheet.
    4. Line speed: about 30 m/min (98 ft/min). The machine runs slower when it is laminating and discharging liner at the same time.
    5. Tension control: 4 shafts on magnetic powder tension, being the 2 unwinds and the 2 liner take-ups. The laminating roller also carries magnetic powder tension.
    6. Nips: 2 sets. The laminating nip is formed by a top and a bottom roller, with the bottom roller driven by a motor. The pulling nip, which feeds the bonded web to the cutting position, is positively driven.
    7. Nip pressure: manually adjusted at the pressing cylinders, with a scale on the cylinder rod to read the stroke of adjustment.
    8. Edge positioning fitted on each unwinding shaft.
    9. Power supply: built for the US supply, 480 V, 60 Hz.
  3. Line Sequence and Layout
    1. Upper unwind and lower unwind, 1 for each web.
    2. Upper liner take-up and lower liner take-up, 1 for each web, positioned ahead of the laminating nip. The lower unwind and the lower take-up change places, so that the liner is drawn off the correct face of each web.
    3. Cold laminating nip rollers.
    4. Driven pulling nip, feeding the bonded web to the cutting position.
    5. Straight-knife cross cutting unit.
    6. Belt conveyor receiving the cut sheets.
    7. Operator control panel, and an electrical enclosure on each side of the machine.
    8. The overall size is set when the machine is designed, and the machine is built to the floor area agreed at order.
  4. Functions and Features
    1. Cold lamination: the 2 webs are joined by nip pressure alone, with no heat and no glue or adhesive application system.
    2. The liner is stripped from each web immediately ahead of the nip, so the 2 adhesive faces meet clean at the nip.
    3. Edge positioning control on each unwinding shaft keeps the 2 webs aligned into the nip.
    4. Programmable controller with a touch-screen operator interface. Cut length, quantity and speed are set at the screen.
    5. Servo motor drive. The material is pulled to the cutting position by motor.
    6. The laminating section, the cross cutting unit and the sheet conveyor are built as 1 compact machine, so the bonded web stays supported and under tension right up to the knife. Splitting the line into separate machines leaves the web unsupported between them, where it hangs down and loses tension ahead of the cut, and cutting accuracy suffers.
    7. Perforated safety guarding over the roller section and a safety light curtain at the delivery end.
    8. The machine can be run alongside other equipment.
  5. Applications
    1. Cold lamination of 2 adhesive-coated webs into a single laminated material, cut to sheet length.
    2. The same machine family sizes and cuts coil stock such as PET, PC, PVC, PCB and FPC material, paper, tape, copper and aluminum foil, lithium battery film, flannelette and metal foil.
  6. Options
    1. Pressure gauge on the pressing cylinder.
    2. Static eliminator.
    3. Feeding conveyor belt device.
    4. Photoelectric mark registration.
    5. Start with material and stop without material.
    6. Kiss cutting as well as full cutting, and up to 5 cut lengths in 1 cycle.
  7. Reference Data for the Standard 1,600 mm Units
    1. This machine is a custom build. The figures in this section are published data for the standard 1,600 mm sheeting unit and the standard 1,600 mm laminating unit, and are given for reference only. The figures for this machine are confirmed at order.
    2. Standard 1,600 mm sheeting unit: cutting length 0.1 to 9,999.9 mm (0.004 to 393.7 in), cutting speed 1 to 100 cuts per minute, cutting accuracy +/- 0.1 mm (+/- 0.004 in), 6 kW, net weight 2,500 kg (5,512 lb), packed size 3,130 x 2,540 x 1,670 mm (123.2 x 100.0 x 65.7 in).
