Propak, 1986, Refrigeration Gas Plant (Hydrocarbon Dew Point Control), 10 MMSCFD, Propane Refrigeration, Skid-Mounted, Surplus

Description

  1. Overview
    1. Surplus mechanical refrigeration gas plant for hydrocarbon dew point control
    2. Packaged by Propak Systems Ltd; year 1986
    3. Capacity: 10 MMSCFD (283,170 m3/day) of natural gas
    4. Skid-mounted process equipment in insulated metal buildings, with an air-cooled cooler
  2. Process
    1. Inlet separator (V-100) for free water and hydrocarbons
    2. Lube oil scrubber (V-107) on the recompressed gas
    3. Gas/gas exchanger (E-301) pre-cools the gas to 6 C (43 F)
    4. Gas chiller (E-302) cools the gas and condensed liquids to -20 C (-4 F)
    5. Three-phase separator (V-103), 30 minute retention
    6. Propane subcooler (E-303), condensate flash drum (V-101) and condensate/product cooler (E-304) for a stabilized condensate
  3. Refrigeration and Glycol
    1. Mechanical propane refrigeration, 15 tons at -22 C (-7.6 F)
    2. Mycom reciprocating refrigeration compressor, belt drive
    3. 80 wt% ethylene glycol injection, approx. 1.75 L/min (0.46 gal/min), for hydrate control and dehydration
    4. Glycol reboiler with heating coil for the condensate flash drum
  4. Design Basis
    1. Inlet pressure: 2758 kPa (400 psi)
    2. Inlet temperature: 49 C (120 F)
    3. Inlet gas: approx. 93.5% methane, 2.7% nitrogen, 0.09% CO2
  5. Condition and Scope
    1. Surplus, about 40 years old
    2. Disconnection included; preparation, loading and transport not included
    3. Design documents, process description and P&ID drawings available
