  1. Overview

    1. New complete pyrolysis plant for waste tires and plastics, rotary batch reactor

    2. Capacity: 10 to 15 metric tons per day (stacked tires)

    3. End products: pyrolysis fuel oil, carbon black, steel wire and syngas

    4. Configured for standard tires and plastics; not suitable for PET or PVC, or for plastics containing oily or waxy substances

    5. Non-condensable syngas is cleaned and recycled to heat the reactor

    1. Reactor: 2,800 mm diameter x 8,000 mm length (9.2 x 26.2 ft), 18 mm wall, Q345R pressure vessel steel

    2. Reactor speed: 0.4 rpm, constant pressure operation

    3. Maximum height: 8 m (26 ft); land area: 33 x 13 x 8 m (108 x 43 x 26 ft)

    4. Installed power: 78.6 kW (actual consumption about 70% of installed)

    5. Water consumption: 0.5 m3/day (132 US gal/day)

    6. Preheating: 2 to 3 hours on natural gas (370 to 560 m3/h) or heavy oil/diesel (320 to 480 L/h); normal operation on recycled syngas (320 to 400 m3/h)

    7. Operators: 3 per shift, 2 shifts

    1. Insulated reactor casing, base with reactor door, 11 kW variable-frequency drive, 2 roller rings

    2. 2 heavy oil burners (400,000 kcal each) with air compressor; auxiliary heating with spark igniters, high-pressure fan, regulating valves and flame arrester

    3. Floating combination reactor seal (carbon fiber and graphite packing)

    4. Hydraulic feeder, 1,300 mm

    5. Manifold, 2 vertical oil condensers, 2 oil storage tanks, hydro seal, flue tube condenser

    6. Explosion-proof oil pump, water pumps with stainless steel heads, 70 t cooling tower

    7. Exhaust gas combustion chamber with chimney

    8. Smoke treatment: atomization tower with water tank, induced draft fan, chimney

    9. Carbon black discharge: first discharger plus 3 water-cooled 5 m dischargers
