Dry wire drawing machine consisting of 3 units with 11 wire drawing blocks.
The first block works vertically with wire unwinding from the top.
The other 10 blocks are designed in a bent position, with wire transmission provided directly through the die boxes.
An angled potentiometer controlled by a pneumatic rollered arm is situated under the die box (wire entrance); alternatively, a PNP proximity switch receives instructions from approaching and leaving metal designed in a conical form.
These two systems provide synchronization of speed between the drawing blocks, preventing negative effects of die wearing out.
All wire drawing blocks are completely tungsten carbide coated.
Wire drawing blocks and dies are water-cooled.
When the machine is stopped using an electrical solenoid placed on the waterline, water flow stops; when restarted, water flow and cooling resume via the solenoid opening.
AC motors are used, all with belt ring movement and helix butt geared reduction, ensuring silent operation free from mechanical problems.
All blocks can start and work either individually or all together.
Each motor has a separate brake system; braking on the block is achieved by squeeze of the brake disc by a pneumatic device.
Necessary precautions have been taken against wire breaking off.
Machine is designed for drawing process of high-carbon and low-carbon wires.
Drawing Capacity
For 2.20 mm wire at 11 m/sec speed, 7 block: 1,178 kg/h, 80% efficiency 943 kg/h.
For 2.30 mm wire at 10 m/sec speed, 7 block: 1,173 kg/h, 80% efficiency 940 kg/h.
For 1.40 mm wire at 16 m/sec speed, 11 block: 696 kg/h, 80% efficiency 557 kg/h.
For 1.20 mm wire at 16 m/sec speed, 11 block: 511 kg/h, 80% efficiency 409 kg/h.
Specifications
Number of blocks: 11.
Drawing strength: 1,800 N/mm²; all blocks are designed to be mechanically constantly in operation.
Wire material: max. C 0.65-0.82 high-carbon and AISI 1006-1008-1010 low-carbon.
Wire inlet: high carbon Ø 5.50 mm, low carbon Ø 6.00 mm.
Wire outlets: Ø 1.37 mm to Ø 2.32 mm.
Machine speed: during constant operation, as unlimited amendment features, max 18 m/sec on the last block.
Production speed: depends on the wire diameter and wire quality.
Diameter of blocks: first block diameter is 710 mm; the following 6 blocks are 630 mm; the last 4 blocks are 560 mm.
Design of the blocks: first block is with wire guide from the top and with collecting apparatus in an upright position; the other 6 blocks with dancers and with straight-line drawing.
Block wire filling height: 200 mm.
Machine reduction: max 28%.
Die box: designed according to die sizes of 43x44 (pressure die); boxes can be adjusted left-right and up-down.
Blocks 1, 7, and 11 have rotating dies; other blocks have fixed dies.
Drawing blocks: water-cooled and controlled/operated by a solenoid; when the machine is stopped, water is by-passed and turned back to avoid over splashing.
Wire drawing motor: AC motors with cooling fan; when motors are overloaded to prevent heating, the main system sends signals to its PLC through controlling units inside the motors.
Motor power: 1st block is 55 kW, others are 45 kW.
Working voltage: 480 volts, 60 Hz.
Controlling panel: steel sheet cabinet ready for connection with the machine.
Security devices: all necessary security precautions taken; protection covers at all parts of the machine.
Wire drawing blocks: pins and nests inside the blocks are designed in conical forms, manufactured and ground together for easy assembly and dismantling; working in interruptions is not possible.
Cooling: wire drawing dies and blocks are water-cooled; special importance given to cooling of wire blocks so wire entrance temperature on the last block and average water temperature is 45 °C; blocks are designed to work without wearing out seals and have cell-block cooling; cooling water splashed with force to the walls of the blocks for high-temperature transfer.
Electrical operation and control: all electrical operation collected on a control cabinet ready for necessary connection; cables connecting the machine to the control cabinet are not included; during constant operation, speed of drive motors can be adjusted in a proportion of 1/10; when started, speed is increased without leaps from zero to the pre-adjusted valve on the potentiometer; necessary operational buttons/controls placed on a control panel or the machine; all blocks can be stopped independently from each other or started in groups.
Control: designed as a PLC controlled system.
Adjusting and regulation: simple adjustment using encoders of which per cent reductions have been calibrated and pre-choice of regulation is made for each block; while wire is put on the die and during operation, no other adjustment is needed; as each block has its dancer, low qualified operators can work the machine easily; the system limits the adjusted speed within itself and regulates the information inside; final speed can be derived from the control panel.
