Production: For normal 270 denier POY (150 final textured denier) the output is 8475 lbs per day average (at 95% uptime, 93% 1st quality yield); just over 4 (2000 lb) tons per day, 3.845 metric tonnes per day.
Year of construction: 1999 to 2000.
The plant consists of 4 winding positions, with 8 ends per winder.
Designed to make polyester POY, and can also make polyester HOY.
POY denier range is from about 100 to 400 per threadline.
Other polymers can be run, provided they do not need a vapor extraction system.
Designed for the production of specialty yarns.
Positions 1 And 2
Each have two extruders (A- and B-extruders), nominally capable of running two separate polymers.
One polymer feeds to one side of the spin beam, the other feeds to the other side.
Packs are inserted such that there are two packs per threadline; each threadline has one pack supplied by extruder A and one pack supplied by extruder B.
Threadlines are combined prior to the tangle jets at the winder, allowing two different polymers or two different colors (a heather yarn).
Each extruder has its own boiler and spin beam heat, so within reason can be set to differing temperatures.
Each extruder also has its own polymer dryer system, therefore two polymer dryers for each of these positions.
Chip loading systems are likewise separate.
There are two pigment dryers and associated loading hoppers per position – one per extruder – and A- and B- pigment hopper/dryer for each position.
Positions 3 And 4
Simpler machines with only one extruder per winder, one down boiler per position, one polymer dryer per position, and one pigment dryer per position.
Each threadline still consists of yarn from 2 spinnerets.
Pack assemblies hold two spinnerets each; there are 8 packs per position.
The 16 individual spinneret threadlines are combined down to 8 threadlines at the tangle jet above the winder.
Machine Configuration And Handling
All machines are top-loading regarding packs.
Packs are heavy; an overhead hoist system would be available if the plant is sold as a unit.
Quench chambers for all machines contain electrically operated manually controlled louvers to set quench air flow.
Quench air supply system is not included in this sale.
Finish application bars are adjustable by manually operated worm gear drives.
Finish pumps and finish head tanks are included in the sale.
Winders
Barmag Craft 8-Kop CW6T-1200/8 winders.
5 such winders are available.
420 mm max diameter.
Ancillary Equipment
Desiccant air for the dryers is supplied by two Munters type air desiccant units.
Roots type vacuum blowers (3) provide vacuum for chip and pigment loading.
Two dust collectors capture dusts in the exhaust air from the polymer and pigment dryers.
The plant would come with a number of spare pack parts, spinnerets, spare meter pumps, spare extruder screws and the like.
Floor Layout
Third floor: extruders for position #1 in the foreground; packs are loaded by lifting the handles on the covers.
Third floor: looking upwards to the fourth floor where the pigment and polymer dryers can be made out.
Third floor: extruder and pack arrangement on machine #3; machine #4 is mostly hidden, immediately to the left.
Third floor: pack oven in the foreground, with machine #4 (yellow meter pump shaft guards), and the view beyond towards machine #1.
Third floor: pack oven – a two level oven with three electrically operated doors.
Second floor: quench chambers, finish guide bar.
Second floor: down boilers, 6 in total – 2 each on machines 1 and 2, 1 each on machines 3 and 4.
Second floor: Roots blowers pulling vacuum on the loaders for the various hoppers for the dryers; a (supplied) control panel controls the valves which applies vacuum to load individual hoppers.
First floor: winder and tangle jet arrangement.
First floor: another view of machines 2, 3 and 4.
