Chamber is constructed of stainless steel with a stainless steel heating jacket
Designed to withstand pressure equal to 20 psig; entire cycle is performed in vacuum
Doors are manually operated with a radial arm design and a special locking mechanism that prevents opening after a certain pressure and vacuum
Back plate is specially made to withstand the rigors of pressure and vacuum

Double door configuration: one front door and one back door
Door gasket is a single piece design made of molded silicon rubber for excellent sealing and long durability
Sufficient number of chamber openings provided for mounting valves and sensors
Welds are free of pits and crevices; internal welds are ground smooth and flush with interior chamber walls
Chamber is insulated and sheathed with SS 304 for a pleasing appearance and excellent thermal barrier to reduce heat load
Sheathed insulation is impact resistant to prevent damage and allow easy maintenance
Heating System
Hot water circulation system through piping around the chamber
Separate tank with adequate storage capacity and electric heaters
Heated water is circulated throughout the chamber periphery with circulation pumps
Mechanical Equipment and Valves
Sturdy and reliable mechanical components used in assembly, including valves, pumps, and regulators
Components chosen from reputed suppliers to simplify calibration, maintenance, replacement, and servicing
Auxiliary Equipment
Vacuum pump suction system to evacuate chamber to 22. Hg; system cycles empty chamber in less than 30 minutes; vacuum cycle is controlled automatically
Filtered air inlet/break assembly with filter housing and removable filter cartridge for vacuum break at end of vacuum pulses
Specially designed gas evaporator ensures gas enters chamber in vapor state only; gas is conditioned automatically to predetermined temperature by maintaining vaporizer temperature at a preset level
Steam generator for humidification; humidity stage is carried out prior to introduction of ethylene oxide and CO2 mixture
Automation and Electronic Control System
Dedicated automatic controller controls entire sterilization cycle; all parameters can be set and are monitored continuously
Control system monitors utilities and informs operator if any utilities are missing or needed per chosen cycle requirement
Loss of any monitored parameter during cycle generates audible and visual alarm
Standard features include program selection mode for multiple cycle programs, multiple password security system, setting of various parameters to alter cycle with process control limits, in-built aeration facility, safety from overpressure and leakage, and touch screen controls
Setup menu allows operator to select from pre-programmed cycles; each cycle consists of segments or phases; once programmed, same cycle repeats until modifications are made
Controller advances system through required phases as conditions for each portion are completed; operator display shows current process values such as chamber temperature and pressure; all parameter values are printed
Provision to change over from auto to manual operation in case of unlikely failure of automation system
Separate chart recording system ensures batch record can be maintained even if auto system fails and cycle is operated in manual mode
Safety Features
Temperature sensor and electronic pressure sensor linked to automation ensure reliability and failure-safe operation
Constant watch over entries and breaks in diagnostics from automation warns operator via messages on indicator and buzzer
Physical safety measures include leak protection, over-pressure protection, locked door sensing, and pressure lock for door
Operator protection includes aeration for reduction in residual exposure, guidance for air exhaust system in chamber and allied rooms, safety instructions, and fire safety instructions
