GE, LM2500+SAC, 1996, 31.3 MW, 50 Hz, 11 kV, Natural Gas-Fired

Description

  1. Overview
    1. Ge lm2500+ natural gas-fired gas turbine with associated aalborg hrsg.
    2. Nominal output of 30 mw.
    3. Originally produced steam for local combined heat and power demand, which no longer exists.
    4. Hrsg is kept in dry preservation; ocgt operates using the bypass stack, providing black start and short-term operating reserve capability.
    5. Open cycle ge lm2500+ gt driving a 36 mva generator, which is a totally enclosed air-cooled design rated at 11 kv.
    6. Boiler on this unit is currently in dry preservation.
    7. Last operational run was in 2020.
    8. Total hours: 23,859; 12,500 since last overhaul; starts: 1,428.
  2. Gas Turbine Specifications
    1. Model lm2500gl, oem general electric.
    2. Design based on the lm2500 gas turbine, rolled off production line in december 1996.
    3. Originally rated at 27.6 mw for a nominal 37.5 percent thermal efficiency at iso with no losses at 50 hz.
    4. Current rating of 31.3 mw and 41 percent thermal efficiency.
    5. Revised and upgraded compressor section with an added zero stage for increased flow and pressure ratio.
    6. Revised materials and design in the hp and power turbines.
    7. Gas generator operates at a compression ratio of 22:1.
    8. Inlet end is approximately 330 mm (13 inches) longer than the current lm2500, allowing for retrofit with only slight inlet plenum modifications.
    9. Front frame modified to provide additional mount link pads on the side for engine mounting on supports in the base skid.
  3. Power Turbine
    1. Model hspt, oem general electric.
  4. Gear Box
    1. Model tx80/4c, oem flender-graffenstaden.
  5. Electrical Generator

    2. 36 mva, totally enclosed air-cooled design rated at 11 kv.
  6. Control Panel
    1. Model mark vi, oem ge salem.
  7. Waste Heat Recovery Boiler
    1. Capable of generating up to 110 t/h of steam at 21 bar and 360 °c.
    2. Additional duct burners could augment steam production.
    3. Currently in dry preservation.
  8. Condition And Maintenance
    1. Very well maintained directly by ge for 20+ years until 2020.
    2. No recent borescope (2013).
    3. Standard lm container is inside another building that has kept it from external weather conditions.
    1. Not specified.
