For a final confirmation that the above machine meets customer’s packing needs – as far as performance, output speed and filling accuracy are concerned – an evaluation of customer’s original product and packaging material is required.
2. Processing Machine with Integrated Packaging Machine for Pillow Bag
Pod processing machine controlled by PLC, designed for processing pods in filter paper starting from a flat foil reel.
Type of pod: ESE Ø 44mm.
Dosing of coffee takes place into a mould which places the coffee on the filter paper. Then, another piston presses the coffee and sucks the exceeding quantity of product to prepare the pod before the second layer of filter paper is placed on it and sealed by a heated piston. Finally, the pod is cut by means of a cutting punch and conveyed on a belt to the packaging machine.
Both grinding and dosing of coffee are controllable by the operator on the operator panel.
The pod production line is engineered to be easily operated and serviced even by not highly qualified personnel. The running and synchronization cycle is fully mechanical without any adjustment by the operator (the dosing, closing and cutting pistons are mechanically synchronized by a drive chain that guarantees the synchronization of the whole cycle without any electronic synchronization) except for cleaning of the machine by means of an aspirator (included) at the end of the working day and the emptying of the aspirator once a week.
The only part subjected to wear and tear are the cutting punch which normally needs grinding every 2 years of operation (8 hours shifts, 5 days per week).
The pod production line is supplied with all parts necessary for its running, including the aspirator and the cutting punch.
Pod packaging machine (vertical form-fill-seal machine), fully automatic, with electropneumatic running controlled by PLC, designed for processing all types of heat sealable wrapping materials starting from a flat foil reel. (Air compressor: excluded).
It is composed of:
- Stainless steel forming tube for pods Ø 44mm.
- Constant heat bar sealing system controlled by digital thermoregulators with temperature display (one for each sealing bar); suitable for heat sealable wrapping materials such as polypropylene and combined films.
- Photocell for proper centring of the film registered print on each bag.
- Encoder for proper setting and adjustment of the bag length.
- Dater on the sealing bars.
- Motorized unwinding of the film from a reel, with speed variator (inverter) to vary the speed and thus guarantee a smooth unwinding and good tensioning of the film.
- Motorized pulling of the film by means of toothed belts with pneumatic opening/closing controlled by speed variator (inverter).
- Horizontal sealing bars controlled by pneumatic cylinder.
- Cutting blade controlled by pneumatic cylinder.
- Quick change of the film reel by means of an easy joint of the exhausted film with the new film.
- PLC control system Schneider for programming and controlling all machine functions.
- Operator panel Weintek with control display for monitoring machine data and operating status (LCD), and touch screen to store and save programs for different and various products, bags sizes and styles (up to 30 working programs), with the facility to recall programs stored for their immediate re-use.
- Visual diagnostics during machine running cycle.
- Safety systems according to the latest directives.

Outfeed conveyor (stainless steel), inclined. Complete with food belt with strips in antistatic PVC material, counting photocell and pneumatic diverter.
Gas injection, device to inject the gas into the bag before sealing. Complete with time solenoid valve, rubber hoses with quick coupling., the whole cycle is controlled by microprocessor. (Gas bottle and pressure switch: excluded).
