Steam is produced in the waste heat boiler with water pipes using exhaust gas from the gas turbine; process steam is fed to the steam turbine for electricity production.
Boiler manufactured in Canada, brand IST, model OTSG; contains pipes that can operate without water.
Type: Innovative Steam Technologies / Canada – waste heat boiler with single pass.
Boiler exhaust gas inlet temperature: 443.5 °C.
Boiler exhaust gas outlet temperature: 180 °C.
Feed water temperature: 26 °C.
Steam HP temperature: 430 °C.
Steam HP pressure: 51 bar.
Steam LP temperature: 230 °C.
Steam LP pressure: 5.5 bar.
Steam capacity HP: 43.5 ton/hour (55 bar).
Steam capacity LP: 14 ton/hour (5.5 bar).
Exhaust fumes discharged from boiler flue to atmosphere at temperature of 140 degrees.
Steam Turbine-Generator Unit
Steam turbine code: WT 7841.
Steam turbine type: NKS 50/72/72.
Operation steam pressure: 52 bar.
Operation steam temperature: 430 degrees.
Number of units: 1.
Nominal unit power (at ISO conditions): 12.5 MWm / 12 MWe.
Condenser model: HTC/N-1300-17.
Vacuum at exit of steam turbine: around 0.13 bar (a).
Used to cool water contained within the condenser of the steam turbine.
Contains 3 units of cooling fans.
Top up of water for the tower is provided from the raw water tank.
Switching Station and Transformer Station
Provides connection of cogeneration plant with 60 MW power rating to a distribution system.
Contains 2 units of transformers, 1 unit of line feeder, 1 unit of coupling at 154 kV voltages at the energy transmission plant for the first phase.
An area has been allocated within the land for 1 unit of line feeder and 1 unit of power transformer for future requirements.
Water Treatment System
Water used for production is obtained from the raw water tank.
Raw water tank is vertical and cylindrical, manufactured from steel; water is conveyed to pre-treatment plant and service areas through pumps; also used to store firefighting water.
Polymer solutions are injected into water from the raw water tank for effective filtration through multimedia filters.
Particles are cleansed through multimedia filtration and cartridge filtration.
Sodium bi-sulphite is dosed to eliminate free chlorine in water treated by multimedia filters.
If water has high hardness or positive Langelier index, blockage of membranes may occur due to ion settling.
Advanced treatment is performed to eliminate hardness and inhibit particles that could cause damage.
Condition
Running hours since new: 22,000 hrs.
Plant was shut down in late 2016.
Plant constructed on a land size of 25,000 m².
