Description Beam Construction The beam is made of 3 parts: 2 flanges and one barrel. Flanges and barrel are connected by welding. Production Methods Forged beam: flange is made by forged machine, barrel is extruded. Cast beam: both flange and barrel are made by mould. Flange production adopts the negative pressure technique. Barrel production adopts centrifugal technique. As other steps in production process are the same, there is no difference on balance and running speed. Strength and Application Comparing with cast beam, forged beam is of higher strength. Cast beam is strong enough for most applications. Customers are using cast beams for 20d mono yarn. Forged beam is only good for 20d and 30d mono filament yarn and fine spandex yarn, as yarn tension is high. Because cast beam is strong enough and price is much lower, forged beam is being replaced by cast beams. For 50d yarn, cast beam is good enough, no need to take forged beam. Specifications Size: 30" x 21". Weight: 88 kgs. A 40 ft container can load about 290 beams.
